This Billing and Payments Policy explains how billing, payments, subscriptions, refunds, and cancellations work for AnnotaMark ("we," "us," "our"). It applies to all paid features of the AnnotaMark service (the "Service").
This policy is part of our Terms of Service. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to this policy.
1. Plans and Pricing
1.1 Free Plan
The free plan includes core annotation tools and is available at no cost. It does not include cloud sync, whiteboards, advanced tools, import, or export functionality.
No payment information is required to use the free plan.
1.2 Premium Plan
The Premium plan is a paid subscription that includes:
- All 12 annotation tools, including sticky notes, magic eraser, shapes, arrows, and color fill.
- Collaborative whiteboards.
- Cloud sync with up to 2 GB of storage.
- Import and export workflows.
- Dashboard management for saved annotations and whiteboards.

Prices are listed in US Dollars (USD). Applicable taxes may be added at checkout depending on your location.
1.4 Pricing Changes
We reserve the right to change our pricing. If you have an active paid subscription:
- We will notify you at least 30 days before the new price takes effect.
- The new price will apply at the start of your next billing cycle after the notice period.
- If you do not agree to the new price, you may cancel your subscription before the next billing cycle.
2. Payment Processing
2.1 Payment Processor
All payments are processed by Dodo Payments, a third-party payment processor. When you subscribe, you will be redirected to a Dodo Payments hosted checkout page to enter your payment details.
By completing a purchase, you also agree to Dodo Payments' terms of service.
2.2 Payment Methods
Dodo Payments supports the following payment methods, although availability may vary by region:
- Credit and debit cards such as Visa, Mastercard, and American Express.
- Additional local payment methods as offered by Dodo Payments at checkout.
2.3 Payment Security
We do not store your full credit card number, CVV, or other sensitive payment details. All payment data is transmitted directly to Dodo Payments over encrypted connections and stored on their PCI DSS-compliant infrastructure.
We receive only the following from Dodo Payments:
- A unique customer identifier.
- Subscription status, such as active, cancelled, on hold, or expired.
- Transaction dates and amounts for your billing history.
3. Subscription Billing
3.1 Billing Cycle
Premium subscriptions are billed monthly on the same date each month as your original subscription date. For example, if you subscribe on May 8, you will be billed on the 8th of each subsequent month.
3.2 Automatic Renewal
Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel. You will be charged the current subscription price at each renewal.
3.3 Billing Receipts
You will receive a billing receipt via email from Dodo Payments after each successful payment. You can also view your subscription status and billing history from the AnnotaMark dashboard.
4. Cancellation
4.1 How to Cancel
You can cancel your Premium subscription at any time by:
- Going to Dashboard - Settings - Billing.
- Clicking Manage Subscription to open the Dodo Payments customer portal.
- Following the cancellation steps in the portal.

4.2 Effect of Cancellation
When you cancel:
- Your Premium features remain active until the end of your current billing period. You are not charged again.
- After the billing period ends, your account reverts to the free plan.
- Annotations and whiteboards stored in cloud sync will remain accessible in the dashboard for 30 days after your subscription ends, giving you time to export or download your data.
- After the 30-day grace period, cloud-synced data may be permanently deleted.
4.3 No Partial-Month Refunds for Cancellation
Cancellation does not trigger a prorated refund for the remaining days in your billing period. You retain full Premium access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
5. Refunds
5.1 Refund Policy
We want you to be satisfied with AnnotaMark. Our refund policy is as follows:

5.2 How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, contact us at support@annotamark.com and include the following information:
- The email address associated with your AnnotaMark account.
- The approximate date of the charge.
- The reason for your refund request.
We will respond within 5 business days and process approved refunds within 10 business days. Refunds are credited to your original payment method.
5.3 Chargebacks
If you initiate a chargeback or dispute through your bank or credit card company instead of contacting us, we reserve the right to suspend your account and contest the chargeback. We encourage you to contact us first because we are committed to resolving billing issues fairly and quickly.
6. Failed Payments
6.1 Payment Failure
If a payment fails due to an expired card, insufficient funds, or other reasons:
- We will attempt to retry the payment according to Dodo Payments' retry schedule.
- You will receive an email notification about the failed payment.
- Your Premium features will remain active during a 7-day grace period while payment is retried.
6.2 After the Grace Period
If payment cannot be collected within the 7-day grace period:
- Your subscription status changes to on hold.
- Your account reverts to the free plan.
- Your cloud-synced data is preserved for an additional 30 days.
- You can reactivate your subscription at any time by updating your payment method.
6.3 Updating Payment Information
To update your payment method:
- Go to Dashboard - Settings - Billing.
- Click Manage Subscription to open the Dodo Payments customer portal.
- Update your payment method in the portal.
7. Plan Changes
7.1 Upgrading
You can upgrade from the free plan to Premium at any time. When you upgrade, you gain immediate access to all Premium features and your billing cycle starts from the date of upgrade.
7.2 Downgrading
To downgrade from Premium to the free plan, cancel your subscription as described in Section 4. Your Premium access continues until the end of your current billing period, then your account reverts to the free plan.
8. Taxes
8.1 Tax Responsibility
Depending on your location, applicable taxes such as VAT, GST, sales tax, or other local taxes may be added to the subscription price at checkout. The tax amount, if any, will be shown before you confirm payment.
8.2 Tax Invoices
Tax invoices are available through the Dodo Payments customer portal or by request at support@annotamark.com.
9. Currency
All prices are listed and charged in US Dollars (USD). If your payment method uses a different currency, your bank or payment provider may apply a currency conversion fee. This fee is determined by your bank, not by AnnotaMark.
10. Free Trials
We do not currently offer free trials for the Premium plan. If we introduce a free trial in the future, the terms will be clearly stated at the time of sign-up.
11. Billing Disputes
If you believe you have been charged incorrectly, please contact us at support@annotamark.com before initiating a chargeback with your bank. We will investigate the issue and resolve it within 5 business days.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Billing and Payments Policy from time to time. When we do:
- We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
- For material changes that affect active subscribers, we will provide at least 14 days' notice via email.
